Imperial U7s Kick Off Their First Season in Style
/Supporting Local Under 7s Football in Bristol
JCW’s open book culture applies not only to our contract management style, but also in encouraging and welcoming when our staff approach us about opportunities to sponsor, improve, or educate within the local community. When our Bristol-based engineer, Richard, approached us about supporting Imperial FC, the football club that his young son Rory attends, we knew this was a fantastic opportunity. We’re proud to support the Imperial Football Club’s Under-7s team in Whitchurch, South Bristol.
Imperial FC: A True Community Club
Imperial is a true community club, running teams from the youngest under-7s all the way through to adults. It’s a place where families grow together - literally. HVAC Service Engineer of Bristol, Richard May has worn his Imperial shirt for more than a decade as a player, and last season, when parents were asked to volunteer and take the U7 team forward to the new season, Richard stepped up, so now, Richard also wears the coach shirt for the Imperial Football Club.
Father and Son Team Up at Imperial U7s
When Richard’s son Rory turned five he was given a choice of clubs. Rory chose Imperial so he could play for the same team as his dad, and now both father and son are part of the U7s squad.
Training, Tournaments and Team Spirit
The group first came together last September, training on Saturday mornings while still in Year 1. Over the summer they entered a few tournaments and played friendly matches, gaining confidence (and plenty of muddy knees) along the way. Their enthusiasm is infectious: Richard and fellow coach James volunteered to lead the team into their very first league season, and every parent has been cheering them on.
Excitement and Pride
Richard said the excitement was incredible when the branded shirts arrived, and we can see why. The boys were thrilled to pull on their brand-new kits, made possible through our sponsorship, and can’t wait to give them plenty of wear throughout the season, taking real pride each time they step onto the pitch.
It’s clear that football here is about more than just goals and tackles; it’s about friendships, families and the joy of the game. We’re delighted to help give these young players the perfect start to their football journey and can’t wait to follow their progress.
Good luck this season, Imperial U7s!
