One Young Hero
/How One Young Hero Donated His Hair to Help Little Princess Trust
At JCW, we’re passionate about supporting the communities we work in and celebrating acts of kindness from our staff. This month, we are so proud to share an inspiring story from Royston’s Contracts Administrator, Lois’s son, Henry, who has gone above and beyond to help other children. His thoughtful gesture and fundraising efforts perfectly reflect the values we hold dear at JCW.
Meet Henry – A True Inspiration
At just 6 years old, Henry showed incredible kindness and determination, as he decided that for the next three years, he would grow his hair with one goal in mind: to donate it to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that creates wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or conditions like alopecia.
The Big Day
Now 9 Years Old, Henry finally took the plunge and had his hair cut. His beautiful locks will now be transformed into a wig that will bring confidence and joy to a child in need. This was entirely Henry’s idea – a testament to his caring nature and big heart.
Going the Extra Mile
Henry didn’t stop at donating his hair. He set himself a fundraising target of £700 to help cover the cost of making the wig. You can support Henry’s mission by donating through his official fundraising page clicked below:
Why This Matters
The Little Princess Trust provides wigs to children to help restore their confidence and identity. All costs, including the making, fitting and styling of the wig, are met by the charity, and this free service is available to any young person up to the age of 24 with hair loss. As part of its Hair and Hope mission, The Little Princess Trust also funds childhood cancer research aiming to find kinder and more effective treatments. Henry’s contribution will make a real difference – and we couldn’t be prouder to share his story.
A Few Words from Henry and Family
Henry – “I wanted to cut my hair and donate it to help a little girl who needs it more than me.”
Lois – “I am extremely proud of Henry, he is autistic and therefore has sensory issues and is not a huge fan of the barbers. Cutting his hair was always a decision that was left up to him for when he felt he wanted to.
When he heard about this amazing charity, he decided that he was going to cut his hair to donate it and raise some money to help fund the making of the wig.
He is so excited at the thought of reaching his goal and giving a little girl this amazing gift. He does a little happy dance with every donation received.”
Showing Support
We’re so proud of Henry for his incredible kindness and determination. We encourage everyone to add to Henry’s fundraising page, and help him reach his goal. Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference to a child in need.
