Collection for Christmas Care Packages

Its beginning to look a lot like…. well we think it’s officially OK to talk about Christmas now! While we get ready for that wonderful time of togetherness, lots of gifts and the abundance of food, we can not forget those who may see little of those luxuries and creature comforts.

An estimated 320,000 people are homeless, almost 5,000 are rough sleeping, figures from 2017 shows 726 people died homeless in England and Wales. Also with in excess of 800,000 emergency food parcels distributed to people in crisis, by food banks in the Trussell Trust network between April to September 2019, poverty is on the rise too, we all really need to do our bit to help.

For another year running JCW have decided to collect food, as well as Items, to go to our local homeless and food bank charities. We know this is only a temporary solution to tackle the homeless issue and people living below the poverty line, this is why staff at the office also organise monthly monetary collections throughout the year, for various chosen charities. It’s our small way of helping to tackle our communities’ problems from the root cause.
