ElecMech Club Festive Charity Lunch

ElecMech Charity Lunch Place Settings

The Nottingham ElecMech Club was established in 1953 to encourage electrical and mechanical companies and wholesalers to get together on a regular basis to raise money for local charities. As a company, we are proud of the staff we employ for their commitment to charities outside of work and support them where we can. Our Operations Director Mark Radford has been the President of the ElecMech Club since 2011, but his involvement in the club started in 2002.

This years’ charity lunch was held at the Belgrave Rooms, in the centre of Nottingham, and accommodated the largest guest list the ElecMech Club has ever seen! The list of 342 guests attended were local contractors as well as national mechanical and electrical providers like ourselves.

As well as being the lead organiser of the event, Mark Radford also compered for the event from start to finish, he made sure guests dug deep and had fun while the donation box continued to be topped up.

Inventive fundraising games were played, such as the “reverse Bingo” where players were eliminated as the numbers were announced. With no pen or stamp required, this is definitely one we look forward to playing again.

Kurt ElecMech Charity Lunch

Kurt loves to win

The after-dinner comedian Ian Irving had the whole room in stitches. An engaging comedian at a charity event always makes a huge difference to the amount of money raised, well entertained people are also generous people. It goes without saying that our Mark played a huge part as the host as well, in achieving the total amount raised amount to just under £8500!

What’s next for Nottingham ElecMech’s Club

The next Elecmech Club event is already set in motion and will include a presentation of the funds we raised. The chosen charities will be honored guests, and they are; PASIC, Mind and My Sight Nottinghamshire
