Staff Christmas Appeal

JCW Staff Christmas Appeal

Throughout 2017 JCW have organised staff campaigns to raise awareness of the various offices throughout the UK and different staff profiles that we have within our diverse organisation. We have also actively encouraged participation in the overall promotion and marketing of the company.

When choosing a campaign to run with the staff in the follow up to the festive season, we decided it was time for us to give something back to our local communities.

Christmas Appeal

In the UK there are fourteen million people living below the poverty line. Individuals go hungry every day for a range of reasons, from benefit delays to receiving an unexpected bill on an already low income.

While we as a company are preparing for the Christmas break and arranging various Christmas parties for our staff, we felt we could also help raise awareness within the company to the plight of so many people facing Christmas with little or no money and struggling to make ends meet. Some are unable to afford food to make a decent hot meal, let alone presents, is a very daunting time for too many.

We decided to help by arranging for a nominated person in each of our offices to collect appropriate nonperishable food to donate to a local Trussel Trust Foodbank in the run up to Christmas.

The Trussel Trust

The Trussel Trust

The Trussell Trust’s 400-strong network of foodbanks provides a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. In 2016/17, they gave 1,182,954 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.

They recognise that stopping hunger is about More Than Food, which is why they are working with foodbanks to provide a range of new services like money advice and Fuel Banks, helping people to break the cycle of poverty.

Raid Your Cupboards!

We are kindly asking all our staff to take a few minutes to raid their cupboards for tins, packs and boxes of food that they could donate or perhaps buy a couple extra during their weekly shop. All they need to do is bring their goods into their local office by Monday 18th December 2017 and we will ensure these are all passed onto a local foodbank in time for Christmas.

We hope that our efforts will mean that less people will be hungry over the festive season and JCW would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas with hope for a more prosperous 2018 for all.
